In the south of France, St. Romaine n Gal, close to Lyon, the IDO European Championship Discofox and Salsa took place. Traditionally, the majority of the couples taking part in Discofox were German, in the Salsa competition four German couples took part.

European Championship Standard without German finalists

The European Championship Standard took place in the Polish Wroclaw with 59 couples. Because of the absence of the German top couple, Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol, Anton Skuratov/Alena Uehlin and Valentin and Renata Lusin were representing Tanzsport Deutschland.

Results from Zabrze

At the WDSF-Competition in Zabrze, Poland, the Schmuck-brothers from Nuremberg both competed.
Daniel Schmuck and Veronika Obholz reached the final of the WDSF Youth Open competition and came in third of 22 couples.
Kristian Schmuck/Jennifer Bertram reached their first international final, they were 6th of 20 couples in the Juniors II competition.

71 couples in Junior II Latin danced the last Ranking List during the Hessen tanzt competition. With closed marking, the result remained unknown until the end, therefore the couples could enjoy the full attention until the prize presentation.

Balan / Moshenska enchanted the audience

Ranking List Hessen tanzt

A high number of 45 couples entered the Ranking List Competition of Adults S Latin. Since the German Vice Champions Timur Imametdinov / Nina Bezzubova had to withdraw from the competition after the first dance due to health reasons, the expected showdown between them and the German Champions Marius-Andrei Balan / Khrystyna Moshenska didn’t take place. The audience afterwards enjoyed the show cases of the German Champions.

Zirm / Schwarz dominate Senior I Standard

Ranking List Hessen tanzt

A high number of 62 couples entered the Ranking List competition of Senior I Standard. 56 couples danced the first round on Sunday morning in front of the already numerous audience. The excitement increased when six exempted couples entered the competition in the second round.

The couples in Youth A class who also dance Standard had to return to the floor Sunday morning at 11.00. This year only 28 couples entered the competition. Since only one couple from the last German Championship final entered, five other couples wanted to take the remaining places in the final.

Youth Latin: very championship-like

Ranking List Hessen tanzt

The final of the Ranking List competition Youth Latin was almost identitcal to the German Championship. Only the German Champion was missing. For this one places, the seventh couple of the Championship, Erik Wittenbeck / Michelle Gette, were recalled. Shortly after 23.00 the results were presented.

Faustmann / Kley – winners of Senior II

Ranking List Hessen tanzt

With 130 couples entering the Ranking List competition Senior II Standard the number was comparable to that of a German Championship. A bigger dance floor was no problem for the couples although particular places were fought for during the various heats. Four of six last year’s finalists were recalled into the final again.

Junior II: Kuzmichenko / Hafez win Standard competition

Last year’s Ranking List competition of Junior II Standard saw a low number of participants with only 31 couples. This year saw an addition of 12 couples to a total number of 43 couples.
