1800 spectators watched the exciting final in Leipzig

Claudia Köhler and Benedetto Ferruggia won against 36 couples from 19 countries and became World Champions Standard. The last year's Vice-Champions fulfilled their role as frontrunners and left their strongest rivals Donatas Vezelis and Lina Chatkeviciute on rank two.  Marco Cavallaro and Letizia Ingrosso from Italy reached the third place. Claudia Köhler and Benedetto Ferruggia won against 36 couples from 19 countries and became World Champions Standard. The last year's Vice-Champions fulfilled their role as frontrunners and left their strongest rivals Donatas Vezelis and Lina Chatkeviciute on rank two.  Marco Cavallaro and Letizia Ingrosso from Italy reached the third place. Over 1800 spectators had come to watch the exciting final, in which Ferruggia/Köhler showed their very best performance, supported by the audience. "A great emotion" said Köhler, who was born in Leipzig, with tears in her eyes. "At the age of 11 I did my first dance steps. 24 years later we reached out first Professional World Championship title in Leipzig. This is exceptionally emotional because our first teachers Rolf and Sabine Herrmann are were here today."
