Much is arguing for this weekend to be another very successful one for the standard and latin couples of the German dance sport. From Platja d'Aro, Spain, the Saxonian Dance Classics in Dresden as well as from the Turkish and Latvian capitals we have received elated messages regarding the results:
Mark Sali/Christina Gidikas in the Spanish Platja d'Aro reached the final at the Youth Latin competition and finished 6th. At the Senior II Latin tournament even two DTV couples ascended the rostrum: Achim Hobl/Kerstin Hahn finished 2nd, Ullrich and Carmen Sommer 3rd. Achim Hobl/Kerstin Hahn danced into the final at the Senior II Standard competition, too and ranked 5th. At the Senior III Standard tournament Alexander and Barbara Valko finished their final with a 6th place. In the semi-final Gerhard Baier/Ingrid Closs-Baier (7th place) as well as Maik Ebbecke/Sabine Reyer (10th place) were taking part. At the Senior IV Standard competition Hans-Wolfgang and Angelika Scheuer as well as Klaus and Petra Engel represented the German colours in the final with a 4th and 6th place.
Pavel Pasechnik/Marta Arndt won the International Open Latin tournament, Kirill Ganopolsky/Kim Pätzug finished 8th in the semi-final. At the Rising Stars competition Lars Erik Pastor/Ecaterina Petrova ranked 3rd, Eugen Plotnikov/Sophie Schütz 10th. Jörg Gutmann/Isabel Matthes were happy about their 2nd place at the Senior I Standard tournament, which was garnished with some ones regarding their marks.
At the WDSF World Open Latin tournament in the Turkish capital Ankara two couples reached the final and occupied the 5th and 6th place: Jan Dvoracek/Malika Dzumaev and Evgeny Vinokurov/Christina Luft.
In Riga, the Latvian capital, Anton Skuratov/Alena Uehlin finished 2nd at the WDSF World Open Standard competition.
Dieter Keppeler/Manuela Schraut-Keppeler added another country on the list: As the only German couple they participated in the Senior III Standard tournament in the Italian Pescara and finished 9th in the semi-final.
