For the 5th time Andreas Hoffmann/Isabel Krüger were dancing the World Championship Senior I Latin and this year occupied the 4th place. The German and the Finnish couple (until then runner-up world champions) were the only couples from the last years final that made it again till the last round. The Russian title holder and both Spanish representatives had to end their competition already in the semi-final, the Czech couple did not take part, but instead of them two other Czech couples that both were dancing in the final. New world champions are the Finns Timo Lindors/Ekaterina Krutovskaya-Kaupinnen.

The 2nd German couple Andreas Laubert/Jeanette Seydich (TSC Grün-Gold Herford) finished, surprisingly for the DTV delegation, already in the quarter-final with a shared 15th place.

World Championship Senior I Latin
1. Lindors/Ekaterina Krutovskaya-Kaupinnen, Finnland
2. Milan Adamec/Hana Koprivova, Czech Republic
3. Gabriele Miglio/Roberta Venturini, Italy
4. Andreas Hoffmann/Isabel Krüger, TSC Excelsior Köln
5. Zdenek Rezler/Eva Krejcirova, Czech Republic
6. Pedro Fernandes/Susana Queiros, Portugal

In the Standard section the second day was not as successful as the DTV had hoped. Three couples from the DTV took part at the World Championship U 21 Standard, just as many as the year before. The international field - a mixture of high quality couples from the Amateur and Youth - was clearly bigger with 70 couples than last year (57 couples). All of the three DTV couples reached the round of the last 48 directly without re-dance, but then for two couples the tournament already ended: Nikita Goncharov/Alina Siranya Muschalik (TSA d. Vfl Pinneberg) reached the 31st place, Erik Kem/Lisa Rykovski (TSC Dortmund) finished with a 27th place. In the quarter-final only Michael Rödelbronn/Mariya Proskurnina (Schwarz-Weiß-Club Pforzheim) represented the DTV and finished 19th.
