The first competition of the new combination Marius-Andrei Balan/Khrystyna Moshenska ended with a clear victory in all dances. But it wasn't just a small event - the competition for the two was strong, as there were 62 couples from 13 countries and five couples from the top 16 in the world. Fortunately, another German couple managed to reach the final: Maxim Stepanov/Ksenya Rybina, another new combination, were sixth.

Traditionally, there were two additional invitational competitions. Jan Janzen/Victoria Litvinova won the Youth Latin competition and Anton Skuratov/Alena Uehlin were runners-up behind the victors Nicolay Darin/Natalia Seredina (Moldova) in the Adult Standard competition.
