Both German Couples in the Finals at IDSF World Standard Championships
Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Köhler as well as Simone
Segatori and Annette Sudol represented Germany at the IDSF World
Standard Championships in Moscow (Russia) in the course of the
Russian Open. Both couples entered the finals together with the
world's best Standard couples, making the wish of the national
coach Oliver Wessel-Therhorn come true: "I'd love to see both
German couples in the finals," he had said.
Benedetto Ferruggia/Claudia Köhler presented themselves
amazingly and improved their position of last year by one rank,
eventually leaving Moscow as Vice World Champions. Also in top form
were Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol, who won an excellent sixth rank
at their first World Championship as a couple.
73 couples from 40 nations were dancing at the Lushniki Sports
Palace for the World Champion title in the Standard dances.
