Understandably, global news were more characterised by the assassination in Copenhagen than by the excellent results of the German couples in Denmark. Besides the title of the European Champion for Benedetto Ferruggia/Claudia Köhler in the Professional Division Standard there have been two more victories for Germany: At the WDSF World Open Latin competition the new combination Timur Imametdinov/Nina Bezzubova left all their competitors behind and were happy about their first common victory.

Even three couples of the DTV reached the final of the world ranking competition Senior I Standard: Sven Glass/Judith Holzwarth returned from Denmark with one more victory for Germany, Kim and Silke Barthels were given the bronze medal and Bruno and Monika Bohn finished 5th in this final of seven couples. In the Youth Latin competition Daniel Dingis/Natalia Velikina danced into the semi-final and finished 10th.
