German National Cup Children JMD: Medals and tickets for the World Championship for the youngsters

On the first day of the Jazz and Modern Dance Festival in Saarlouis the children and their German National Cup were the centre point. The freshly renovated and only recently reopened theatre offered a huge scene to the youngest JMD dancers.

First the 19 soloists offered their performances to the seven judges, among them the only male dancer in this age group (till 11 years), Christian Weiß from Voerde. He convinced the judges and so was qualified for the final together with five girls. He finished 3rd in the mixed competition. The 3rd best girl was Marielle Müller (TuS Hilden 1986). The seven ones had to shared by two top soloists: Johanna Maurer (ASV Wuppertal) was given the silver medal with two ones, the resting five ones were the remuneration for the performance of Anastasia Menzel (TSG Bavaria Augsburg).
