Simone Segatori / Annette Sudol made the turn-around: at the Grand Slam Standard in Hongkong they won clearly against their long-term rival Dmitry Zharkov / Olga Kulikova. In the end the German Champions were one point ahead of the Russian Champions.
Out of 119 competing couples at the German Championship Senior II S, one couple meant business from the beginning: Gert Faustmann / Alexandra were exempted from the first round and from the moment they started, they were convincing. Receiving 45 first places, the couple from Berlin defended their title.
Apart from the competition results of Hessen tanzt, several DTV couples have been taking part in international competitions and were achieving nice results:
The European Championship Standard took place in the Polish Wroclaw with 59 couples. Because of the absence of the German top couple, Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol, Anton Skuratov/Alena Uehlin and Valentin and Renata Lusin were representing Tanzsport Deutschland.
71 couples in Junior II Latin danced the last Ranking List during the Hessen tanzt competition. With closed marking, the result remained unknown until the end, therefore the couples could enjoy the full attention until the prize presentation.
A high number of 45 couples entered the Ranking List Competition of Adults S Latin. Since the German Vice Champions Timur Imametdinov / Nina Bezzubova had to withdraw from the competition after the first dance due to health reasons, the expected showdown between them and the German Champions Marius-Andrei Balan / Khrystyna Moshenska didn’t take place. The audience afterwards enjoyed the show cases of the German Champions.
A high number of 62 couples entered the Ranking List competition of Senior I Standard. 56 couples danced the first round on Sunday morning in front of the already numerous audience. The excitement increased when six exempted couples entered the competition in the second round.
The couples in Youth A class who also dance Standard had to return to the floor Sunday morning at 11.00. This year only 28 couples entered the competition. Since only one couple from the last German Championship final entered, five other couples wanted to take the remaining places in the final.
The final of the Ranking List competition Youth Latin was almost identitcal to the German Championship. Only the German Champion was missing. For this one places, the seventh couple of the Championship, Erik Wittenbeck / Michelle Gette, were recalled. Shortly after 23.00 the results were presented.
With 130 couples entering the Ranking List competition Senior II Standard the number was comparable to that of a German Championship. A bigger dance floor was no problem for the couples although particular places were fought for during the various heats. Four of six last year’s finalists were recalled into the final again.
