 DTV Professional Division

Since 1 January, the DTV is an official member of the WDSF Professional Division. DTV couples can now register as Professionals at the WDSF and the DTV, thus having access to all Professional tournaments of the WDSF.
A Professional Division will be built up in Germany, too. The presidium has entrusted Joachim Llambi with this task.
Our homepage will soon include a separate area with more detailed information. The dates of the first Professional tournaments will be published by the end of January.

 World Championship JMD in Mikolajki/Poland

World Championship JMD in Mikolajki/PolandAnna Grünwald and Nina Knan (TSG Bavaria Augsburg) are the new World Champions in the discipline Duo Modern Children.

“autres choses” (TSC Blau-Gold Saarlouis, see photo) showed an unbeatable performance and won the gold medal in the discipline Small Groups Modern. The German runners-up “outfaced” (Tanzverein 90) reached the fifth place (out of 16 teams in total).
On the last day, “autres choses” took the 2nd place in the Formation section. DTV-representative Horst-Werner Schmitt was especially happy about this silver medal, as this is “the supreme discipline and the basis of Jazz and Modern Dance in Germany”.

At his first World Championship in the Solo Modern Male section, Sebastian Spahn (TSC Blau-Gold Saarlouis) won the silver medal straightaway. He reached the semi final without effort and managed to enter the final with an increased performance. Patrick "Paddy" Griebel, also from Saarlouis, improved his result from last year (8th place) and finished fourth.
The next day, Patrick Griebel and his partner Maria Cipriano competed in the discipline Modern Duos Adults and won the bronze medal.
