Exciting competitions in Tokio

Two 1rst places and one 2nd place at the 19th Tokyo Open Championships

The country of the rising sun presented itself with a lot of sun, but also with low temperatures. But this was only outside, because the couples of the 19th Tokio Open Championship really put the heat to the spectators – with good results for Tanzsport Deutschland.

In the Super Grand Prix Standard of the WDSF Professional Division Benedetto Ferruggia/Claudia Köhler won outstanding. In the World Open Standard competition Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol left the floor as clear winner. Anton Skuratov/Alona Uehllin finished 4th in the same competition. Valentin and Renata Lusin were the runners-up to the final, Anatoliy Novoselov/Tasja Schulz ranked 9th.

In the World Open Latin competition the participation of Marius-Andrei Balan/Khrystyna Moshenska was firstly uncertain as they were affected by a strike of the flight controllers in France and had to take a long circuitous journey. In spite of that obstacle they arrived in time and finished the competition with the 2nd place, behind Goffredo/Matus from Moldavia. Artur Balandin/Anna Salita just missed the top-class final and finished with the runners-up place 7.

More than 7.000 spectators were visiting the world ranking list competitions in the Tokyo Center and proved to be excited fans of competitive dancing. This fact created an excellent spirit and atmosphere in the hall, despite of the long competition days, DTV president Heidi Estler conveyed.
